“Autumn Sky” is a beautiful Moroccan wool rug whose colour palette is like a flaming maple in autumn foliage. The rust and açaí red base is rich and nuanced, coming alive with changing light and bringing warmth and depth to the rug.
The design is restrained and minimal, allowing the powerful colour palette to take centre stage. The pattern is built from simple, rhythmic symbols in shades of black, beige, and natural white. Along the edges, a checkerboard border is enlivened with accents of orange.
The medium pile gives the rug a wonderfully soft and full feel. As is typical for Aït Youssi rugs, the fringes appear only at one end. “Autumn Sky” is a high-quality and mature Berber rug that manages to feel both modern and traditional at the same time.

Air out or vacuum without a brush
To refresh the rug, air it out in dry weather in the shade. You can also vacuum it on low power without a rotating brush. Avoid strong vacuuming, as it may wear down the fibers over time. A good alternative is to flip the rug over and vacuum the floor beneath to remove dust and debris.
Clean stains with genuine Marseille soap
Blot fresh stains immediately with paper towels. For dried stains, use fragrance-free Marseille soap, which contains fat and will not strip the wool’s natural oils. This helps preserve the rug’s soft sheen and healthy appearance. Always use authentic, unscented Marseille soap.
Avoid water washing – use a professional when needed
The plant-based dyes used in the wool yarns can be sensitive to water. If your rug clearly needs a full wash, we recommend using a professional cleaner that specializes in Berber rugs.
Store in a dry and stable environment
If the rug is not in use, roll it gently and wrap it in a breathable fabric such as cotton. Wool fibers can react to humidity and temperature changes, so it’s important to store the rug in a dry, well-ventilated space.
