Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Boucherouite rugs are made primarily from recycled textiles and wool. If no wool is included, they can usually be washed at home, similarly to traditional rag rugs.
Vacuum gently and air out regularly
Use low suction and avoid brush attachments. Air the rug outdoors regularly. In winter, brushing the rug with clean snow will instantly freshen it up. You can also flip the rug pile-side down to allow dust and debris to fall to the floor, then vacuum the floor afterward.
Hand wash or use a professional cleaning service
Boucherouite rugs can be hand-washed in lukewarm water with a mild, natural detergent. Allow the rug to dry flat whenever possible. Avoid machine washing, as it may distort the shape or fray the edges.
Remove stains with a damp cloth
Blot stains immediately with paper towels, then gently dab the area with a damp cloth. If needed, use a mild, natural soap (such as Marseille soap), but avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
Best suited for dry indoor spaces
These rugs are ideal for dry interior environments. Rotate the rug occasionally to ensure even wear and prevent uneven fading or pressure marks.
Store in a dry, protected space
Roll the rug loosely and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area. Do not seal it in plastic; instead, wrap it in breathable fabric such as cotton.
