The design is built around a clear grid rhythm, with colours living side by side in square forms. Cognac brown, shades of blue, green, brown, orange, red and white create a rich yet balanced palette. This Boucherouite rug is made from recycled textiles and wool. Rugs containing wool require more delicate care and should be treated like sensitive textiles.
Vacuum gently and air out regularly
Vacuum the Boucherouite rug on low suction without using a brush. Air it outdoors regularly. In winter, brushing or cleaning the rug with snow will quickly freshen it up. You can also flip the rug pile-side down so loose dirt falls to the floor, then vacuum the floor afterward.
Remove stains with a damp cloth
Blot stains immediately with paper towels, then gently dab the area with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a mild, natural detergent (such as Marseille soap), but avoid chemical cleaning agents.
Hand wash with care or consult a professional
You may wash the rug by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, natural wool-safe detergent. Because the rug contains wool, be especially careful with water temperature and avoid scrubbing. Use wool soap, such as genuine Marseille soap. In Morocco, baking soda is also used for cleaning. Let the rug dry flat whenever possible. Avoid machine washing, as it may cause distortion or fraying. If you’re unsure about cleaning, it’s best to consult a professional.
Use in dry indoor spaces and rotate occasionally
Boucherouite rugs are best suited for dry interior environments. Rotate the rug occasionally to ensure even wear.
Store in a dry and protected place
Roll the rug loosely and store it in a dry, well-ventilated space. Do not seal it in plastic – wrap it in breathable fabric such as cotton.
