Boujad Vintage Rug “Utopia” 180x305 cm
Boujad Vintage Rug “Utopia” 180x305 cm
"Utopia" is an old Moroccan Boujad rug that exudes life, craftsmanship, and stories. Between the knots, the weaving creates a stunning three-dimensional effect. The rug skillfully combines kilim and knotting techniques with recycled materials typical of boucherouite rugs—a perfect blend of beauty and durability.
The color palette is warm and multi-layered: muted greens and oranges, soft pinks, and red shades deepened by black. The composition is brightened by vivid pink details, creating a beautiful contrast. A unique, intriguing, yet clear overall design.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Authentic Moroccan wool rugs are crafted from high-quality natural materials. They are built to last, and their ease of maintenance is unmatched.
Wool repels dirt and moisture
The untreated wool used in Moroccan rugs naturally repels dirt, liquids, and odors thanks to the natural oils in the fibers. It does not become statically charged or attract dust, and it doesn’t shed excessively. These properties make Moroccan wool rugs a great fit even for homes with children or pets.
Air out or vacuum without a brush
To refresh the rug, air it out in dry weather in the shade. You can also vacuum it on low power without a rotating brush. Avoid strong vacuuming, as it may wear down the fibers over time. A good alternative is to flip the rug over and vacuum the floor beneath to remove dust and debris.
Clean stains with genuine Marseille soap
Blot fresh stains immediately with paper towels. For dried stains, use fragrance-free Marseille soap, which contains fat and will not strip the wool’s natural oils. This helps preserve the rug’s soft sheen and healthy appearance. Always use authentic, unscented Marseille soap.
Avoid water washing – use a professional when needed
The plant-based dyes used in the wool yarns can be sensitive to water. If your rug clearly needs a full wash, we recommend using a professional cleaner that specializes in Berber rugs.
Store in a dry and stable environment
If the rug is not in use, roll it gently and wrap it in a breathable fabric such as cotton. Wool fibers can react to humidity and temperature changes, so it’s important to store the rug in a dry, well-ventilated space.
About Boujaad Rugs
About Boujaad Rugs
Boujaad rugs are richly patterned and highly colorful Berber rugs, known for their expressive and often symbolic designs. A recurring motif is the tall, eight-pointed Star of Solomon. Other common elements include hearts, various animals, and floral patterns — each carrying cultural and symbolic meaning.
These rugs are woven with a loose knot density and symmetrical knots, similar in construction to Azilal rugs. Boujaad rugs originate from the plains surrounding Marrakech, in central Morocco.
